Introduction

Functional coatings are a very fine layer of chemical compounds which can be applied on internal surface of crucibles to significantly improve performance, reduce impurities when melting and holding pure alloys. It also stops dross build up and makes clean up fast and easy.

Applications

Coatings can be used in aluminium applications, zinc distillation, precious metals and pure copper melting.

PD Coating

PD Coating is a high purity, high alumina coating which is sintered onto the internal surface of the crucible during the manufacturing process. As a result of this process a dense physical barrier is formed which can enhance performance and extend crucible life when used in a range of applications.

  • Very low, almost negligible ux absorption
  • Prevention of dross adhesion
  • revention of contamination of the melt by crucible body material
  • Wear resistance

Typical Applications

  • Aluminium alloys (particularly effective at preventing attack on crucible body by aggressive modifying agents such as sodium, sodium salts, strontium)
  • Zinc distillation and zinc oxide production
  • Precious metal melting

Note :

PD Coating can be supplied on any of the carbon bonded silicon carbide or clay graphite crucibles manufactured by Morgan Molten Metal Systems.

PRO Coating

  • Low impurity leak into molten meta
  • Thin, low porosity, high density coat due to mirco-scaled ingredients
